Most locations sit within existing buildings that were never planned for supermarket use, which sets the conditions for the design work. SBLM’s role focuses on fitting a full program into these constraints and coordinating the systems needed to support daily operations.

Layouts are developed around clear visibility and straightforward movement through the store. Back-of-house areas are organized to handle deliveries, storage, and refrigeration within limited square footage. Many sites include shared service corridors or restricted loading, which requires early coordination with landlords and building management to establish workable routes for stocking and waste removal.
