Loews Now Regal E-Walk

The Loews (now Regal) E-Walk at 42nd Street is a thirteen-screen stadium-seating multiplex cinema incorporated in an urban mixed use, high-rise development. The project is located within the confines of a narrow, six-story commercial base, over which a high-rise hotel was to be constructed. The SBLM project team faced and solved highly complex stacking of theatre and projector spaces in five stories in this exceptionally tight shell. Site restrictions allowed for less than optimal depth of the building. Very restrictive shaft and mechanical space required a highly creative response to the enormous MEP loads of a 3,000-seat facility.
