Kohl’s New York Design Center reflects the retailer’s forward-thinking approach to fashion, customer experience, and brand identity. Designed by SBLM Architects, the space functions as a dynamic hub for design, merchandising, and collaboration—strategically located in the heart of New York’s fashion district to tap into the energy and influence of the city. The design embraces an open, studio-like environment that encourages cross-disciplinary creativity. Flexible work zones, material libraries, and collaborative lounges are organized around a central “ideation core”—a light-filled space where designers and merchants come together to brainstorm, prototype, and refine collections in real time. Transparency is key: glass-walled conference rooms, writable surfaces, and display zones foster a sense of visibility, engagement, and momentum.
