Creating an education campus of this scale requires careful organization of buildings, programs, and circulation long before construction begins. At Glen Oaks, FH/SBLM develops three new schools on a former hospital site, shaping a cohesive environment that serves students from early childhood through high school. The campus brings together PS 266, PS 208, and the High School for Teaching, Liberal Arts and the Sciences, each designed as its own academic community yet coordinated as part of a larger whole.

PS 266 occupies 112,500 square feet and is planned for 760 students. PS 208 totals 125,200 square feet with capacity for 925 students. The high school, the largest of the three buildings, is a five-story, 204,100-square-foot facility that supports 1,182 students and a wide range of specialized programs. Together, the campus accommodates 3,000 learners across multiple grade levels, academic tracks, and community needs.

FH/SBLM’s role focuses on aligning program requirements with site constraints while ensuring that each school maintains its own identity. Circulation, access, shared outdoor areas, and service routes are coordinated so the buildings operate smoothly both individually and as a collective campus. The planning approach reflects a commitment to educational environments that are functional, durable, and adaptable for long-term use.
