Dave & Buster’s is not just a restaurant or an arcade. It’s a hybrid space where dining, gaming, sports viewing, and event hosting happen simultaneously. The architecture has to coordinate all of that in real time. SBLM works with Dave & Buster’s to roll out new locations that balance entertainment, throughput, and revenue generation under one roof.

Each project starts with zoning analysis and site adaptation. Some locations repurpose former big-box stores, while others are ground-up builds within mixed-use developments. SBLM evaluates whether the site can support ceiling height requirements for attractions, adequate HVAC for high-occupancy areas, and sound control between zones that serve different purposes.

The internal layout prioritizes guest circulation. Customers need to move from bar to game floor to dining area without getting disoriented. Lighting and acoustics help create invisible boundaries between spaces that are visually connected. SBLM uses spatial sequencing to encourage longer visits while reducing bottlenecks. The kitchen and bar operate like high-volume production zones. SBLM places them for direct access to multiple service points, optimizing labor use during peak hours. Back-of-house flow supports both fast prep for food runners and precision service for private event areas.

Game floor planning includes coordination with vendors, lighting strategies to avoid screen glare, and electrical infrastructure for ongoing updates. The flexibility to replace attractions or expand ticket redemption zones is built into the layout. Dave & Buster’s success depends on delivering a consistent experience in very different buildings across the country. SBLM helps make that consistency possible by treating entertainment architecture like an integrated operational system.
