Department of Sanitation Garage and Salt Facility

The New York City Department of Design & Construction (NYCDDC) & New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) sought to renovate their existing borough repair shop and construct a new garage for Staten Island districts 1 & 3. SBLM created a conceptual design utilizing a phased approach including expansion of the borough repair garage and renovation of the existing; a new storage garage to be shared by the two districts; demolition of existing storage garage; construction of structured employee parking; environmental remediation; and substantial site redevelopment.
