The new Career Technology Building for Automotive Technology is envisioned as a singular, unifying structure that embodies the connection between learning, innovation, and craftsmanship. Under one sweeping, long-span roof, the building gathers all components of the program—training, teaching, collaboration, and administration—into a cohesive whole, reinforcing a sense of shared purpose and community. Inspired by the simplicity and efficiency of a quonset hut, its bold, continuous form creates both a recognizable campus landmark and an efficient enclosure for technical education.

The most intensive program for the building is a series of vehicle repair bays that serve as the primary workspace efficiently relate to the building’s plan footprint. Classrooms, breakout areas, storage, and administrative zones are organized beneath the same roof to support hands-on instruction. Fully glazed end walls reveal the activity within, branding the building as a transparent showcase of technology. Overhead, skylights punctuate the roof like Swiss-cheese, dispersing and diffusing daylight deep into the space and transforming moments of work into moments of inspiration.
